Strata Mining Ltd is consolidating its strategic position within North and South Americas and Africa through tenement acquisitions and joint venture arrangements. In keeping with the change in the Group’s strategy from an asset light to an asset medium business our Iron Ore and Coal division is actively looking to take up further options with life-of-mine off-take agreements.

Strata and its subsidiary companies with their commodity trading departments handle the marketing of 1).Iron Ore, 2).Coal and  3).Scrap Steel to independent consumers throughout the world.

Our logistics services tie everything together and fulfill a critical role in our pipeline strategy, ensuring the smooth and reliable transfer and delivery of raw materials from our own facilities, often in the remotest locations, to industrial buyers in manufacturing centres around the world.

The higher revenue levels and increased tonnage reflect the growth of our Chartering Division so as a result of the strong demand both internally and from third-party clients for dry-bulk vessels, we have recently re-organised our freight chartering activities and created a single business desk to handle all internal and external requirements. This has improved market data sharing among our commodities divisions and logistic operation and strengthened our freight risk management.

Our core strategy is to build integrated supply chains – “pipelines” – in commodity sectors in which we have expertise, and to control the critical stages of the supply process. This creates value through origination from low-cost production markets, and we then add value – and capture margin – at each subsequent step of the supply chain process.
